Retrofit

What is a Whole House Retrofit?

A whole house retrofit is basically a series of home improvements that aim to reduce energy usage and carbon footprint of existing homes. These upgrades also bring many health benefits, as well as lowering your fuel bills.

Whole house retrofitting is a skilled undertaking and needs to be planned out and installed by competent, skilled tradespeople, who work to high standards of the industry.

Heat loss

Around 75% of all of the heat created within the property and paid for by the consumer is lost via the floors, walls and roof. 35% walls, 15% floors and 25% via the roof. A whole house retrofit can significantly reduce these losses and save you money.

Minimum EPC Ratings

Since 1 April 2020, landlords can no longer let or continue to let properties if they have an EPC rating below E, unless they have a valid exemption in place. Landlords without exceptions will need to adopt a whole house retrofit approach to reach this target and achieve compliance.

Retrofit Specialists

At Northern Retrofit, we specialise in providing homeowners, private tenants, and landlords with the whole house solution to reduce energy bills, reduce carbon emissions and improve the Energy Performance of properties. This helps to maximise savings on energy use awhile reducing carbon emissions to a minimum.

The team were really responsive, quick and well experienced. They even went above and beyond by agreeing to help me on another loft insulation issue different to my original enquiry. Would recommend.

James Mellars James Mellars

Big thankyou to Northern Retrofit who quickly and efficiently carried out my insulation installation. The two fitters were very polite and left everything tidy and carried out the work in under 2 hours.
